Dogsitting
Hug-a-Pup Dogsitting Services provides personalized Dogsitting care for your beloved dog. We pride ourselves on caring for your dogs as if they were our own. In fact, to most of the dogs that stay with us, we are their second home.
Here at Hug-a-Pup, unlike a traditional boarding kennel, we screen all dogs who stay with us, so we will be asking some questions prior to booking to get to know the dogs and see how they might fit into our setup and Dogsitting philosophy. We want to make sure that all dogs are as comfortable as possible during their stay with us.
We strive to provide a quiet, comfortable, low stress, and home-like environment for all of the dogs. All dogs must be social, or at least comfortable around other dogs and people, however, the dogs are not required to directly interact with the other dogs.
A Hug-a-Pup pup’s daily routine includes individual playtimes and personal attention. We spend time with each dog individually out in our playfield or the play yard, and we’ll also hang out inside together.
We take time to explore outside (often we have a “sniffari”!), play some games, try out some trick training or basic training skills, have a round of retrieving or tug, and just have some fun together.
We have a comfy couch in our playroom so snuggles and some quiet time are options too!
We tend to have the dogs hanging out one-on-one with us, but once in a while, there might be a good fit with another visiting dog. We feel that your dog’s safety and comfort while staying with us is more important than meeting new dogs, but if there is a possible match that we are comfortable pursuing, we will introduce them slowly and carefully.
Our daily goal is to provide our Dogsitting dogs with more than enough exercise, attention, and stimulation so that they are settled, relaxed, and snoozing while crated. Our daily schedule isn't set in stone, but we try to make it similar to what the dogs would expect at home.
